Visit Abomey, at the heart of the strong medieval Dahomey kingdom. Stop at the giant statue of King Behanzin, visit historic museum, palaces of the kings, a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Itinerary

Depart Cotonou on a three hour drive to Abomey. On arrival stop at the giant statue of King Behanzin, the 11th monarch of the kingdom then continue to historic museum, palaces of the kings, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Visit the palace of Glele, the 10th King and that of his predecessor King Gezo. Stop at Toussaint Louverture's memorial in Allada.
